It is awarded to any individual of the Maryland National Guard for recognition of outstanding achievements or service that has clearly placed the individual far above his/her peers. This award can be earned more than once and is shown by bronze and silver oak leaf clusters. |

Maryland National Guard Distinguished Service Cross Ribbon
The Maryland National Guard Distinguished Service Cross Ribbon. This award can be earned with a V device for valor or without the V device. It is awarded to personnel of the Maryland National Guard, who performed an act of heroism or valor clearly beyond what might have been reasonable expected and of extraordinary nature. In the saving of a life, the act must be of a voluntary nature which placed the member in possible personal jeopardy or harm. If the award is earned with the V device, additional devices would be a gold botonee. If the award is earned without the V device, additional awards are bronze and silver oak leaf clusters. |

It is awarded to Maryland National Guard personnel for being mobilized by the Governor of Maryland or by the Federal Government to support a domestic emergency or crisis. This award can be earned more than once and is shown with bronze Arabic numerals. |

This award can be earned more than once and is shown with bronze and silver oak leaf clusters. |

It is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding skills, military bearing, and have been selected to appear before the State level Soldier/Airman of the Year. This award can only be earned one time. |

The Maryland National Guard Outstanding Unit Ribbon. It is awarded to subordinate units of the Maryland National Guard for demonstrating unit readiness requirements. The award is designed to reward and inspire unit teamwork. This award can be earned more than once and is show by bronze Arabic numerals. |

Maryland National Guard Overseas Service
The Maryland National Guard Overseas Service ribbon. It is awarded to any member of the Maryland National Guard for doing service outside the continental limits of the United States, not including Alaska and Hawaii, while serving on or after August 2, 1990. Service must be performed for not less than 30 days consecutive or 45 days cumulative of active duty for training at overseas duty locations involving real world contingency operations or overseas training exercises. This award can be earned more than once, but only one award is granted for each period of overseas service. |

Maryland National Guard Recruiting Ribbon
The Maryland National Guard Recruiting Ribbon. This ribbon is awarded for recognition of those individuals directly responsible for the enlistment or appointment of individuals into the Maryland National Guard. Any individual must have proof of at least three referrals to be eligible for the award. |

Maryland National Guard State Service Medal Ribbon
The Maryland National Guard State Service Medal Ribbon. It is awarded to personnel of the Maryland National Guard to promote efficiency and as a reward for five years of continuous state service. This award can be earned more than once and is give in five year increments. The device to attach for additional awards is a bronze and silver bottony devices. |
