Louisiana National Guard Cross of Merit Medal Ribbon
The Louisiana National Guard Cross of Merit is Awarded to any individual who while serving honorably with the Louisiana National Guard distinguished himself by exceptional heroism, meritorious achievement, or meritorious service. General officers are not eligible for this award. When awarded specifically for heroism, a bronze V will be attached to the center of the ribbon. |

The Louisiana National Guard Distinguished Civilian Service is Awarded to civilians only. The recipient must show exceptional meritorious service in furthering the security and welfare of the State of Louisiana. |

The Louisiana National Guard Distinguished Service Cross is Awarded to any active Louisiana National Guard soldier who, while serving honorably, distinguished himself by extraordinary heroism which did not justify a Louisiana National Guard Medal of Honor. This heroic act must set the individual apart from his comrades and involve risk of life. |

The Louisiana National Guard Medal of Honor ribbon is awarded to any person who served honorably in the active Louisiana National Guard and, at the risk of his own life, clearly distinguished himself for gallantry above his comrades. This is the Louisiana National Guard's highest honor and can only be awarded to someone once. |

The Louisiana National Guard Retention Ribbon is Awarded for exceptional achievement in the area of retention or management of personnel. Recipient must have served honorably with the Louisiana National Guard. May also be awarded to citizens who have supported the Louisiana National Guard through programs like Family Assistance and Employer Support. |
