Illinois National Guard Active Duty Ribbon
The Illinois National Guard Active Duty Ribbon. This ribbon is awarded for service in a State Active Duty status. It cannot be for training, trauma, or ceremony support. Service in any declared state emergency will only be credited once even though the service member may have been on duty multiple times during the same declared emergency. This award can be earned more than once and it is shown by Arabic numerals. |

Illinois National Guard Distinguished Service Medal Ribbon
The Illinois National Guard Distinguished Service Medal Ribbon. This ribbon is awarded to personnel who distinguish themselves by exceptionally meritorious service to the State in the performance of duty of great responsibility, or who distinguish themselves by acts of heroism beyond the call of duty as described above to a lesser degree than required for the Illinois Medal of Valor. This award can be earned more than once and is how by bronze and silver oak leaf clusters. |

Illinois National Guard Lincoln Medal of Freedom Ribbon
The Illinois National Guard Lincoln Medal of Freedom Ribbon. This award was established on June 24, 2006, but may be retroactively awarded to September 11, 2001. This ribbon is awarded to individuals who've been mobilized on or after September 11, 2001 in direct support of the Global War on Terrorism. This award can be earned more than once and is shown by Arabic numerals for additional awards. |

Illinois National Guard Long Service Ribbon
The Illinois National Guard Long Service Ribbon. On July 25, 1947, the award was re-instituted and awarded upon completion of 5 years of military service in the Illinois National Guard. Prior to 1947, it was given upon completion of 3 years. Active service will be counted if the member was called or ordered to active duty and was released back to such status after the tour of duty. Periods of previous service may be added together to meet the qualification. This award can be earned more than once and is shown by bronze and silver oak leaf clusters. |

Illinois National Guard Medal of Merit Ribbon
The Illinois National Guard Medal of Merit Ribbon. This ribbon may be awarded to a member of the Illinois National Guard who distinguishes themselves by exceptionally meritorious service for the State. Superior performance of duty alone will not justify the award. The service performed must be clearly outstanding and unmistakably exceptionally when compared to the achievement of individuals of like rank and responsibilities. This award can be earned more than once and is shown by bronze and silver oak leaf clusters. |

Illinois National Guard Medal of Valor Ribbon
The Illinois National Guard Medal of Valor Ribbon. This award is given to members of the Illinois National Guard who distinguish themselves by a conspicuous act of courage and valor. The act may have been performed either in a military or non-military status. The deed or act performed must be one that displays personal bravery or self-sacrifice above and beyond the call of duty. It must be so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual for gallantry above the individual's comrades, and must involve personal risk of life or performance of more than ordinarily hazardous service. Incontestable proof of the act or deed is required. This award can be earned more than once and is shown by bronze and silver oak leaf clusters. |

The Illinois National Guard Military Attendance Ribbon. This ribbon is awarded to members for continuous perfect attendance over a period of 24 consecutive months, including attendance credit for all scheduled training assemblies and annual training periods scheduled during the 24-month period. This award may be earned more than once and is shown by Arabic numeral devices. |

Illinois National Guard Recruiting Ribbon
The Illinois National Guard Recruiting Ribbon. This ribbon is earned by Illinois National Guard personnel who refer 3 individuals who subsequently enlist or are appointed within a 24 month period. A member also may earn the ribbon if they significantly contribute to recruiting efforts while serving in a non-pay status subsequent to October 1, 1995. This award can be earned more than once and is shown by Arabic numeral devices. |
