Authorized by the Secretary of the Navy, December 17,
1945.
Marine Corps Reserve Ribbon is awarded by the Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps for
each 10-year period of honorable military service in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve
between December 17, 1945 and December 17, 1965. Military service after December
17, 1965, shall only be accredited toward the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.
